Yom HaShoah and Yom H’Atzmaut Bring Reflection and Rededication

We have recently commemorated and celebrated Yom HaShoah and Yom Ha’Atzmaut in events of great importance in connecting us as a Jewish people and as a Jewish community. As we move further from the Holocaust and reflect upon the amazing growth and development of the State of Israel, we must also be cognizant of the importance of connecting the next generation of Jewish life in the Diaspora to Israel, and of Israel's yet further challenges that require a tremendous amount of dedication and resources.

Gifts from Federation Enable FAU Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education to Continue

A $400,000 gift from the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County and the League for Educational Awareness of the Holocaust (LEAH) will provide the needed support to maintain FAU’s Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education. Each organization will provide $100,000 per year for two years to support the Center and its many activities.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg Delivers Message of Jewish Unity at Federation

The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County made national headlines with NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg's presentation at its June 20 Leadership Breakfast. Bloomberg delivered a powerful message of the importance of Jewish unity in the coming election - a unity based not on party affiliation, but on making sure the special U.S. relationship with Israel is a top priority for both candidates.

2008 Annual Meeting Celebrates Israel @ 60 & Federation Leadership

The festive blue and white decorations and Israeli flags and could have been set for Yom HaAtzmaut, Independence Day in Tel Aviv. The stirring rendition of HaTikvah, Israel’s national anthem, led into sirens that might have observed Yom HaZikaron, Memorial Day in Jerusalem.

More than 5,000 residents of all ages and from all streams of Judaism in a sea of blue and white extended beyond the Mizner Park Amphitheater - with 3,000 Israeli flags and 600 beach balls, 6 memorial candles and 11 local Israel war veterans, 20 banners, students from 7 Jewish Day Schools and synagogues, 13 talented singing and dancing Israeli scouts, 5 internationally renowned Klezmer musicians, 2 young women from Sderot, under siege by rockets.

Parade Inspires, Exhibits Younger Generation’s Love of Israel
