She entered the world of retail under the guidance of guru Marvin Traub at Financo Inc. and has been a major player ever since— scoring positions at both Louis Vuitton and Bulgari. In 2007 the stars aligned and she and her friend Alexis launched the fabulously famous gilt.com website site – boasting luxury brands and hand-selected styles at members-only prices. In addition to revolutionizing high-end shopping, Alexandra speaks five languages, is an avid philanthropist and a mentor for budding entrepreneurs.
She’s also won a great deal of industry recognition, including Ernst and Young Metro New York Entrepreneur of the Year for eCommerce 2010, and was voted in the Top 10 Most Powerful Moms: Entrepreneurs by Working Mother 2011, in addition to many other awards and honors.
