CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT: CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY

Despite the economic challenges all nonprofits are facing, our Federation's vision for the future of our campus remains clear and on track. A centerpiece of that vision is development of a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on a 40-acre parcel at the north end of the Richard & Carole Siemens Jewish Campus. The Federation's extensive Senior Study in 2009 confirmed the need for such a facility in our community.

The idea for a CCRC originated from the Federation’s desire to monetize available land on the Federation campus, creating a revenue source for other aspects of our mission. Once stabilized, the CCRC can generate a projected annual cash flow ranging from $2 million to $6 million.

A CCRC offers a blend of components – housing, health care, hospitality, recreational and social. It provides residents with the security of knowing that these services are provided by people they know and trust.  It also offers seniors independence and privacy, while creating opportunities to meet new people and enjoy activities. The proposed CCRC is planned to offer a life-care benefit offering independent living residents discounts on assisted living and nursing care.
