Over the past two years the Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation (JJCF) has ramped up its efforts to build a legacy for our Federation, our Jewish community and our people, reaching out as never before and increasing our assets through multiple initiatives. Amid this success, we are well aware that far more is needed to maintain the current progress and further develop vital resources to secure our 35-year-old Jewish community’s future well-being. Therefore, I am extremely pleased to announce that, following a comprehensive national search, our JJCF will welcome a new full-time professional leader. Cathrine Fischer Schwartz, currently President and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford in Connecticut, will join us in August as Vice President, Foundation.

Wherever they’ve supported Jewish Federation campaigns – in South Palm Beach County or in other communities - the remarkable thread of caring for their neighbors and the Jewish people over the years ties them together. Recognizing that this deep-rooted commitment nourishes the seeds for generations, the Federation’s Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation is showing its appreciation for local Golden Givers – those who have given to UJA/Jewish Federation Campaigns nationwide for 18 years or more. On January 22, 2014 at 9:30 am in Zinman Hall on the Federation campus, the JJCF will present a collective thank you to these Golden Givers with a Golden Gathering breakfast event. They’re all invited to enjoy Bagels with Golda, a one woman, audience-participatory show featuring Joan Wolfberg as Golda Meir.
