MasoretSchool Education Services (SES)MASORET is what every Hebrew teacher needs. Hands-on MASORET workbooks help modern educators teach ancient traditions. MASORET: The Jewish Heritage Enrichment Series, developed by the Department of Jewish Education of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is called MASORET or “Tradition,” and it is aptly named. It has become a modern-day tradition for education directors throughout the United States to keep a set of MASORET at their schools. Today over 750 schools from Seattle to Miami, and from San Diego to Portland, Maine, use MASORET. It is even found “across the pond” in England, “down under” in New Zealand and with our northern neighbors in Canada. As of today there are five MASORET series:
MASORET gives you the ability to provide activities that will
give each child success – and having fun while learning. To order a copy

When one teaches Hebrew decoding we all know that drill is essential. However most children do not enjoy sitting and just reading from a book. Enter "MASORET" and drill becomes fun. MASORET has games and activities that are enjoyed by everyone. By giving each child a variety of ways to improve their reading skills they gain a feeling of self-pride and look forward to participating in synagogue services. Pedagogically speaking, we know that children can read Hebrew, an unfamiliar alphabet to most, more easily when it is written in a larger size print. MASORET has large print (Flash cards), slightly reduced size print but still large (Card games) reduced again but still larger than in the typical book (Cube games) and reduced once again "book size". (Text). Using games and activities enables each student to gain a comfort level with the tefillah. After they have mastered the words of each individual tefillah they are ready to go to the Siddur. Please don't use the Siddur for practice reading - the Siddur should be thought of as something special in the student's mind. MASORET allows the teacher to individualize with ease. What is wonderful for both teacher and student is that MASORET offers the more capable student a fun review that is challenging and allows the child with lesser ability, who is struggling with five words, the ability to review the words easily by reproducing each of the five words five times (the value of Hebrew Copy Masters!) S/he will have success and will look forward to adding more words. Success begats success!! MASORET'S directions are teacher/student friendly. A teacher's guide is included in each volume. MASORET is easy to reproduce - just place the "Hebrew Copy Master" on your photocopy machine. Bright colored card stock is our paper of choice - inexpensive and with eye appeal! Hebrew Copy Masters allow you to buy it once and use it forever. MASORET can be used as a supplement to any textbook you are currently using. Of course, many schools have developed their own individual prayer curriculum and rank MASORET as a necessity in curriculum development. Volumes are available for Reform, Conservative, Orthodox and Reconstructionist congregations. Once your students use MASORET they will sing its praises. We want MASORET…MASORET is fun! Of course the learning speaks for itself. MASORET gives you the ability to provide activities that will give each child success – and having fun while learning.
