Message from the Chair
Jennie Lewin Kreger, OTR/L
Welcome to the second year of The Department of Special Needs at the Jewish Federation of SPBC. This department was created in response to the needs of the families of our community as an outreach of information and support. There is no better place than the Jewish Federation of SPBC to provide an open and welcoming environment to our special needs population.
The 2010-2011 season continues to provide opportunities for families, children, caretakers, religious leaders and service providers to support each other and provide resources to improve educational, social and community involvement opportunities to individuals with special needs. We are excited to offer our 2nd Annual Special Needs Family Day on February 13, 2011. This event brings together resources from all of South Florida for information sessions, lectures, social and recreational opportunities and a services expo.
We hope to continue our expansion within the community to best serve your needs. We have only just begun our work to make our community accessible and open to families and children with special needs. Whether you are new to the Jewish Federation of SPBC or looking to become more involved in its mission, the Department of Special Needs provides a unique opportunity to increase your connection within yourself and your community.
I look forward to continuing to build on the wonderful foundation set by my predecessor and to bring our community together towards common goals.
