Stop Iran

Stop The Threat of a Nuclear Iran

Iran’s nuclear development program is a grave concern to the Jewish community because it poses a threat - to global security, to U.S. interests, and to the very existence of Israel.

The Jewish Community Relations Council's role and mandate are clear.  In March 2007, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs adopted a Resolution on Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Program affirming the threat of a nuclear Iran. The organized Jewish community is called upon to devote maximum and urgent effort toward getting the U.S. and the international community to cooperate on a diplomatic and economic strategy that will persuade the Tehran regime to abandon its weapons program.

  1. STAY INFORMED
Learn about the issues affecting our global security and why Iran must be stopped.

  2. EDUCATE OTHERS
Americans are wary to get involved in another conflict. Therefore, it is imperative to stress that we support strong multi-lateral economic and political sanctions against the Iranian regime while specifically targeting companies that invest more than $20 million in Iran's energy sector. In addition, Iran not only threatens Israel, but it also supplies and trains insurgents killing American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. And finally, practices of the Iranian regime destabilize the oil market and undermine our economy. Click here to view some talking points on Iran and the threat it poses.

  3. CONTACT YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS
Let your members of congress know you support the “Iran Sanctions Enabling Act of 2009” which will authorize State and local governments to direct divestiture from, and prevent investment in, companies with investments in Iran's energy sector. With JCRC leadership, the State of Florida, Palm Beach County and the Cities of Boca Raton and Delray Beach have already voted to divest from such companies. List of Public Officials.

  4. PERSONAL DIVESTMENT
Targeted divestment from Iran’s energy and gas industries has succeeded in denying Iran much-needed foreign investment. Send a letter to your own investment counselor to ensure that your personal portfolio does not include investments in companies doing business in Iran. Visit Terror-Free Investing.

  5.
  6. WRITE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR OF YOUR LOCAL PAPERS
Stress the danger Iran poses not only to America and Israel, but also to global security.
