School Educational ServicesEducation ResourcesThe School Education Services provides professional development, educational resources including an extensive library & media center, and consulting services for the teachers of the early childhood centers, congregational and day schools of SPBC. The ERC publishes the MASORET Jewish Heritage Collection series. Hands-on Educational Resources, Instructional posters and educational games are available for teachers to replicate in their classrooms. Up-to-date text and resource books as well as an extensive collection of videos , CDs and DVDs are in our Media Center; special equipment and teaching tools include the Ellison die-cut machine with Judaic dies and Hebrew letters, a laminating machine, and the Israel 15 foot by 30 foot “Big Map” giving teachers and students a hands-on / walk on opportunity to see and learn about “Israel” close up. Professional development programming is offered in both Judaics and pedagogy. The SES services over 550 teachers in 19 schools in our early childhood, congregational & day school community, and coordinates "Communities of Practice" groups within the educational professional community. Day School "Chesed Day" Community: Convenes all of the students and faculties of the day school community on Federation’s Campus to march in celebration. Festivities include school bands, dancing and learning. Each school displays an original school banner to accompany the marchers for this grand celebration. Contact Marilyn Nachman (561) 852-3218 Marilynn@bocafed.org Israel Experience for Teachers: Providing two types of Israel experiences for our teachers: The P2K Teacher Exchange programming with our sister community, Kiryat Bialik, builds connections and bridges between students and educators on various grade levels. Our “First Timers’ Seminar in Israel”, scheduled every few years, provides teachers that have never been to Israel with an Israel experience.
