P2K: Partnership 2000 (Women's Exchange)

P2K Women

About the P2K Women's Exchange Partnership

Though 6,500 miles away, our Federation’s Sister City, Kiryat Bialik, keeps getting closer through bonds of friendship, collaboration and understanding. Our P2K Partnership began in 2002 and seeks to foster and create relationships and dialogue between the citizens and institutions between South Palm Beach and Kiryat Bialik for the benefit of both communities.

The root of The Partnership is to engage in a dialogue where both communities share with each other and build bridges of understanding and appreciation, thus strengthening our shared Jewish identities and destinies.  Our P2K program has been building and fortifying this “Living Bridge” through professional, women’s and student exchanges. Driven by volunteers in both communities, P2K is chaired locally by Ann Kelman and Yossi Ende.

During a remarkable week in October, women from our Federation visited and traveled in Israel with sisters from Kiryat Bialik in this year’s P2K Women to Women Exchange. Mission chair Rebecca Appelbaum, Rabbi Jessica Brockman, Monica Goldstein, Melissa Romero and Dina Schwartz were joined by new Assistant Director of Women’s Philanthropy, Eliza Prince Atias.

Their trip highlights included an audiovisual night show at the David Tower, cooking lunch with Ethiopian olim and participating in Israel’s first Susan G. Komen Walk to End Breast Cancer. View photos from our recent trip.

For more information about this program, please contact Eliza Prince Atias, Assistant Director of Women's Philanthropy, at elizap@bocafed.org or 561.852.3113.

Joint Fundraising Project between the women of South Palm Beach County and Kiryat Bialik to raise funds for desks for special needs students at the Kadima School in Kiryat Bialik.
Adjustable Desks for Kadima Elementary School ($1,670 each desk). In a nutshell, the importance of the adjustable desk lies in the ability to adjust it to fit each particular child.
