The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is delighted to announce and publicly thank Goldstein Lewin & Co. Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, and the law firm Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin for their generous sponsorship of the Federation’s “Israel @ 60” Mission.
From November 15-23, 2008, Federation’s “Israel@ 60” Missionwill unite the South Palm Beachcommunity in support and celebration of the State of Israel.
Mission Co-Chair Dale Filhaberlauded the sponsors, “We could not be more proud to have these two leading area businesses on board. They clearly understand that visiting Israelis a major statement of solidarity and foresee the wonderful impact this mission will also have on our own community. The excitement just keeps building with the addition of their support and their vision.”
For both these firms and their leaders, sponsoring the Missionis one more step in their long, ongoing community philanthropy.
Gerald Lewin, Goldstein Lewin co-founder and co-managing partner, shared, “This is both a significant time to celebrate Israel, as well as a time of great concern. We wanted to do something very special for the people of Israelas well as for our community. Having lived in Israelas a child after leaving Lithuania, and with many relatives in Israel, I know personally the great significance of this Mission.” Lewin continued, “This also builds on our inaugural sponsorship of Federation’s Metro Business last year.”
Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin had already agreed to sponsor Federation’s Metro Business for the second year in 2007-2008 before it learned of the opportunity to sponsor “Israel@60,” and signed on for the additional commitment. Stuart Silver, a partner in the Firm, explained that the firm's gift emerged from a "strong desire to support a milestone event for this community. As a growing and thriving professional firm in Boca Raton, we want to be a part of it."
This will not be Silver's first Missionexperience. He has co-chaired groups of 650 and 1,000 to Israelin years past. His enthusiasm is shared by others at Kluger Peretz Kaplan & Berlin, including Michael Chesal, Eleni Pantaridis and Brad Shraiberg, all of whom attended the first recruiting meeting for the Mission. "There are already seven to eight of us who hope to participate on the Mission," Silver said.
The “Israel@ 60” Missionis designed to truly engage the entire community. “This mission promises to have something for everyone,” said Mission Co-Chair April Leavy. “It features five itineraries tailored to different interests: First timers; Business and Technology; Arts and Culture; Adventure Seekers; and a special General Assembly track for those interested in attending the business meetings of the UJCGA. Participants will be able to pursue their own interests while sharing other activities as a group.”
