Women who care about improving the opportunities, choices and status of Jewish women and girls - in our own community, in Israel and overseas - are invited to the informative and inspiring Voices of Women Fall Kickoff of the Jewish Women’s Foundation (JWF) of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. The program will be held on December 2, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm in the Gallery Center, 608 Banyan Trail, Boca Raton. The couvert is $36 in advance, or $40 at the door, and there will be no solicitation at the event.

Attendees will enjoy an hors d’oeuvres reception (dietary laws observed). They will hear a d'var torah from Rabbi Marci Bloch of Congregation B’nai Israel in Boca Raton, and a presentation by noted Judaic lecturer, educator and author Arna Poupko Fisher will keynote. Currently on the faculty of the Department of Jewish studies at the University of Cincinnati, Fisher is a frequent guest on national radio and television and has published on the relationship of Jewish Law to contemporary society. She serves on the faculty of the Wexner Heritage Foundation Graduate Fellows program, and has taught at both the University of Toronto and McGill University.

Andrea Dubroff and Barbara Finkelstein are co-chairs of the evening, which will be moderated by Mara Reuben.

The Jewish Women’s Foundation offers a unique opportunity to women to be a hands-on philanthropists, and to support the causes they care about most. All contributors serve as trustees to select grant recipients, deciding together how to direct their combined resources to have powerful impact. This past year, JWF allocated $90,000 for projects including emergency assistance in the South Palm Beach community.

JWF is an initiative of the Jewish Community Foundation of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. JWF’s areas of interest include abuse prevention of Jewish women and girls; programs that leverage education to create the next generation of strong healthy young women connected to Judaism and their own sense of self; and health and research that advocates for the medical concerns of Jewish women and girls, spotlighting cancers that affect women.

Jewish Women’s Foundation is generously sponsored by Boca Raton Community Hospital, Elaine Baker Gallery, and Oppenheimer.
