Across 40 bowling lanes, 160 family members of all ages from throughout the Jewish community reunited with old friends while making new ones at Metro’s Family Bowling event on Sunday, October 17. The afternoon at Strikes Bowling Alley in Boca Raton launched the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County Metro season’s family activities.

They enjoyed bowling, kosher food, and quality family time. They also heard from Gadi Soued, Metro Community Vice President, about how families can help those in need, from our neighbors to our larger family across the globe. Roz Littman and Claire Goodman won the raffle for tickets to see Matisyahu at FEDSTOCK on December 18 at Mizner Park Amphitheater.

"We were delighted to see Jewish residents from diverse backgrounds, neighborhoods and denominations all together as a unified community, said Soued.  “This is a true reflection of the Jewish Federation as an organization - Jews from all streams coming together to help Jews all over the world."

The event was co-chaired by Linda Schwartzman and Rachel Rudensky.

“We were extremely pleased that more than 160 people turned out and had so much fun at this a first time family event,” said Schwartzman. “This shows the real need to reach out to our local Jewish families and bring them together. We look forward to building off the positive momentum.”

The next Metro family event will be a Love, Laughs and Latkes Chanukah and Shabbat program on December 3 at Olympic High School.
