Helping the community is serious business, but young local Jewish leaders are once again out to prove it can also be uproarious. Comedy Night Live, the season's biggest, boldest and most boisterous young adult event of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, will take place on May 12, 2011. The place to be: Zinman Hall turned Chic Comedy Club on the Federation campus, 9901 Donna Klein Blvd, Boca Raton. Accompanying the comedy will be hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, including a L'chaim vodka Martini Bar, with dietary laws observed.
The couvert is $36 for Tikkun Olam Society Level donors who contribute $365+ to Federation's 2011 annual campaign. Ben Gurion Society members, who donate at $1,000+ per couple, will enjoy a VIP Reception to Mix & Mingle with Gary Gulman at 6:00 pm, and a couvert of $25. Doors will open to all attendees at 7:00 pm.
Comedy Night Live is presented by the Federation's Metro Division, which engages adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s to find their niche in our vibrant Jewish community through social, business, family, educational, leadership and philanthropic activities. The evening is being planned by enthusiastic co-chairs Joanna & Bryan Drowos, and Nancy & Greg Gefen.
“Last year's comedy night had people in stitches, but it definitely wasn't Metro's last laugh! Gary Gulman is sure to help us build on last year’s success and continue the Ben Gurion Society's tradition of combining comedy, philanthropy and community building," said Bryan Drowos.
"Two things we can always use more of in this world: laughter and giving. Many of us have attained real success and comfort living in our community, but there are also so many who need our help. And it's truly our responsibility to give back," said Greg Gefen. "Comedy Night is a great opportunity to do just that, as well as a time for laughter with friends o
ld and new."
"See for yourself just how great it feels to make a difference, especially with more and more of our Jewish family in need. And see what great connections you can make while having a terrific time," added Drowos. "I wouldn't miss it if I were you!"
Gary Gulman has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Last Comic Standing and the HBO comedy documentary Tourgasm with Dane Cook, among many notable venues. His latest CD is entitled "All I Want for Hanukah is Christmas." Experts all over praise him as one of the top comedians touring today.
