Through Create a Jewish Legacy (CJL), the Anne & Norman Jacobson Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) of South Palm Beach County is actively developing partnerships with local synagogues, schools and service agencies to ensure a strong, vibrant community through planned charitable giving. Thirty engaged leaders from throughout our Jewish community enthusiastically kicked off the initiative on December 6, 2011. The community momentum continues into the first of a series of CJL Training Institute Sessions on January 31. Working together, we have the power and ability to make a major impact for generations to come – with a wealth of customized CJL resources through our JCF.

IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER 2010

As part of the newly enacted Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010, Congress extended a provision that permits you to use your IRA to help accomplish your philanthropic goals.  If you are 70 1/2 or older, you may make a gift of up to $100,000 per year to the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County from your IRA with no federal income tax impact and your gift will be counted toward your required minimum distribution.

The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County has proudly announced that David Pratt and Elyssa Kupferberg have been appointed to lead The Jewish Community Foundation of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County in 2008-9. The JCF develops permanent resources to ensure the continuity of Jewish life, programs and services in our community, and throughout the world, through lasting legacies, by developing permanent endowment funds, lifetime gifts, bequests in wills, trusts and planning giving programs.
Charitable Gifts from IRAs Are Back!

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act just passed allows you to once again support the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County through a distribution from your IRA. This is the same Rollover you may remember from 2006-2007, now extended through 2009. It allows eligible individuals to make charitable gifts from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) without negative income tax consequences.
