The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County has announced its selection of Matthew C. Levin to become the organization's new Chief Executive Officer on
August 1, 2012. On May 11, 2012, the Federation's Board of Directors unanimously approved Levin for the CEO position. Levin brings 25 consecutive years of professional responsibility with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), culminating in his current position as Southeastern States Director and Florida Regional Director.

The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County’s Israel & Overseas (IOC) Committee has finished its research and decision-making process to determine how Federation dollars can best do a world of good next year. They met with overseas partners, studied needs and program impact, and weighed options for the best possible recommendations to address next year’s global concerns with the resources available.

The Mid-Kansas Jewish Federation (MKJF) has opened the Wichita Area Tornado Relief Fund to contribute to local disaster recovery and rebuilding, in the wake of nearly 100 tornadoes in Kansas last weekend. Federations are urged to direct donors to the Mid-Kansas Federation’s online donation form or send checks to the MKJF, Attn: Wichita Area Tornado Relief Fund, 400 N. Woodlawn, Ste. 8, Wichita, KS 67208. Please indicate "Wichita Area Tornado Relief" on all checks or in the designation box online. This fund will be open through May 15.

Dressed in white, they’ll be laughing, rocking, enjoying cocktails and looking out at a 270 degree expanse of sea and sand from the 4,500 square foot balcony and 9,000 square foot white interior of Penthouse Two at One Thousand Ocean.

Thousands of South Palm Beach County residents of all ages will once again stand together in solidarity and spirit, hear top quality live music, enjoy flags and falafel, and share in joyous celebration of Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day. “Israel Under The Stars, the free annual community-wide celebration presented by the JCRC of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, returns to Sunset Cove Amphitheater in West Boca to commemorate Israel’s 64 years of statehood on Thursday evening, April 26, 2012. This year’s top notch entertainment will be provided by the internationally popular Sam Glaser, Brett Loewenstern, and  Todd Herzog. Students from local day schools and synagogue religious schools will also participate onstage and provide exhibit booths depicting Israel's myriad of achievements.

On March 11th, hundreds of passionate Super Sunday volunteers kept the phones ringing throughout the area from the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County. The Federation was absolutely animated - as Super Heroes on campus reached out into the community with opportunities to help people join the super strata by helping to meet vital needs. Zinman Hall was alive with all ages and all streams of our vibrant Jewish community, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. The seamlessly successful day full of ruach, compassion and multiple activities was co-chaired by Jodi & Jeff Harris and Naomi & Rich Steinberg.

We at the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County are horrified and outraged by the shootings at the Ozar Hatorah Jewish School in Toulouse, France. As members of our global Jewish family, we are profoundly affected. We extend our deepest sympathies to the families who have lost loved ones and send our prayers to those who have been injured and whose lives have been shaken by this deplorable act of violence.

A hundred students from area high schools and colleges spent an evening together learning about pro- and anti-depictions of Israel both within and outside classrooms on college campuses. On March 1, they took time from their busy schedules to attend “Step Up for Israel.” The program, which screened two films from Jerusalem Online University, was presented by the Jewish Community Relations Council of South Palm Beach County, with sponsorship from Alpha Epsilon Pi, the Global Jewish Fraternity; and in conjunction with Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach Counties, Jewish Student Union, BBYO-Gold Coast Region, Jerusalem Online University, Young Judea and March of the Living.
